She wrote Mrs. Felix the specifics and I think it is the biggest and the best yet for Lake Limerick. A Mrs. Jane Carbaugh caught a five-pound, 8½-ounce 20%-inch long largemouth bass, called a lunker, on a Rebel lure. She is having the bass stuffed and mounted as her first trophy bass and has reason to, as she says it is the largest caught yet by a woman this year, according to the Western Bass Club statistics. She and her husband are active members of this Seattle club. She says it will quite probably take the women's division trophy for this year. As far as we know it is the largest bass caught in Lake Limerick and Mrs. Carbaugh has a right to be very proud indeed as a bass is quite a fighting fish and probably gave her quite a challenge to land it.
