Mason County PUD No. 3 recently an-
nounced the availability of public tours of
the Johns Prairie operations center in Shel-
ton. Tours are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 6:30
p.m. on June 25 and June 27 and also at 10
a.m. on June 29.
Tour groups are being limited to a cer-
tain size so that participants may have the
time to better hear presentations and ask
questions of the guides. Tours will include
the warehouse, shop buildings and the ad-
ministrative complex.
Those interested in the tours are encour-
aged to call for reservations at 426-8255,
ext. 5206.
The Johns Prairie operations center is
the site for the PUD 3 warehouse; field oper-
ations such as Shelton line workers; vehicle
maintenance, repair and fueling; engineer-
ing, telecommunications, the meter shop,
transformer and substation maintenance;
and various administrative functions.
Mason Conservation District
looking for new appointees
The Mason Conservation
District is seeking candi-
dates to serve on its volun-
teer board.
The district is governed
by a five member volunteer
board. Three of the board
positions are elected, and
two are appointed by the
Washington State Conser-
vation Commission (WSCC),
an agency that assists with
conservation district activi-
ties. Mason Conservation
District elections occur an-
nually during the first quar-
ter of each calendar year.
The Conservation Com-
mission fills two positions
on the district board by ap-
pointment. The next com-
mission appointment to
the district board will take
place in July. The position
is currently vacant.
To be considered for ap-
pointment to the district
board, an application for the
position of Appointed Con-
servation District Supervi-
sor form must be submitted
to the Mason Conservation
District or the Washington
State Conservation Com-
mission.
The required form may be
obtained at the district of-
fice or by visiting the Wash-
ington State Conservation
Commission website, www.
scc.wa.gov. The completed
Application Form must be
received by the State Con-
servation Commission no
later than July 12.

Whitney Travis and Jay-
son Zaniewski are plan-
ning a wedding for June
30. at Fair Harbor Marina
in Grapeview.
Travis is a graduate of
Shelton High School and
is employed as a pharmacy
technician. Her parents
are Jill Travis of Shelton
and Jerry Travis of Las Ve-
gas, Nev.
Zaniewski, also a gradu-
ate of Shelton High School,
is employed with the Ma-
son County Sheriffs De-
partment. His parents are
Jane and Virgil Pentz of
Shelton.
Hayley
Travis and
Kevin Lamb
Hayley Travis and Kevin
Lamb are planning a wed-
ding for Aug. 3, in Yakima.
Travis graduated from
Shelton High School and
Lamb from Davis High
School in Yakima. Both
Travis and Lamb earned
undergraduate degrees
from Central Washington
University and graduate
degrees from Heritage Uni-
versity.
They teach fourth grade
in the Yakima Valley and
attend the Gleed Church of
Christ.
Travis is the daughter of
Jill Travis of Shelton and
Jerr:~ Travis of Las Vegas.
Lamb is the son of Jim and
Kathy Lamb of Yakima.
