Prayer vigil to be held today at noon At noon on Thursday, June 18, Faith Lutheran Church will be hosting a short prayer service for peace and justice for all people around the world who are suffering from the effects of violence, war, oc- cupation and terrorism. Their primary focus will be on Israel/Palestine, and that the results of elections and peace negotiations in these countries may bring lasting peace with justice for all people within inter- nationally agreed upon bor- ders. The 18th of every month • has been designated by the Lutheran Church (ELCA) as Washington State's day for special prayers. The prayer vigil will continue on the 18th of every,m0nth until peace is reac~'d (especially in Israel/Palestine). All are welcome to the prayer vigil. If you have questions call Sue Johnson at 898-8407. "Jupiter is a ball of fire -- or a love bug. Either way, he's an out-of-this-world kitty," a volunteer said. Jupiter is immunized, vet-checked and ready for adoption. Kitten Rescue of Mason County can be reached in the evenings at 426- 2455. LOOKIN' FOR A HOME Adopt-a-Pet Adopt-a-Pet is a nonprofit volunteer group whose place- ment services, kennels and spay-neuter assistance pro- gram are financed through monthly garage sales held on the second Saturday of the month at 210 Grove Street. All dogs are vet-checked and spayed or neutered. Call 432-3091 to set up a kennel visit. To donate items call 426-4269. For spay-neuter assistance call 426-5523. Feline Friends Feline Friends is a nonprofit volunteer group whose mis- sion is rescuing and finding homes for homeless, abused or abandoned cats and kittens. The group provides foster care in volunteers' homes until the animals can be placed in per- manent homes. Adoption fee includes spay-neuter service, feline AIDS test and parasite control. To adopt a kitten or adult cat, call 426-2588 or 360-866-0599. Donations are ac- cepted at P.O. Box 27, Shelton, 98584. Kitten Rescue Kitten Rescue of Mason County is a nonprofit volunteer group that rescues and finds homes for abandoned kittens. Adoption fee includes spay-neuter service, feline leukemia test and immunizations. Quarterly garage sales support the group.
