Louis C. Powers
Succumbs Here
• Louis C. Powers, 349 Chestnut,
died Friday in the Mason Gen-
eral Hospital at the age of 67.
He was born on Feb. 12, 1902
in Tulip Ark.
Mr. Powers resided in Mason
County for four years as a lab-
orer. He was a member of the
Seventh Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Clara Powers, Shelton; one
sister, Mrs. Mabel Marshall, Shel-
ton; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
Services were held Tuesday at
3 p.m. in the Batstone Funeral
Home with Pastor Robert E.
Burs and Pastor George Rasmus-
sen officiating. Burial followed
in the Shelton Memorial Park.
Dies in Tacoma
• Alfred T. Harrison died Satur-
day in the Tacoma General
Hospital at the age of 86. He
was a resident of Mason County
from 1925 to 1952 and since that
time has resided in Tacoma. He
was self-employed as a contrac-
tor.
Mr. Harrison was born
Nov. 4, 1882 in Liverpool, Eng-
land.
He is survived by three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Margaret Christain, El-
lensburg, Miss Evelyn Harrison
and Mrs. Hazel Wode, both of
Tacoma; one brother, Wesley
Harrison, England; four grand-
children and two great-grand-
children.
Graveside services were held
Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Shel-
ton Memorial Park with Pastor
Carl Carlsen officiating. Services
were under the direction of the
Batstone Funeral Home.
