that leads to immobility. Adhesive
capsulitis (the medical term) involves
inflammation of the watertight sac,
known as a capsule, which bathes
the shoulder in nutritious fluid.
When irritation caused by throwing
leads to chronic inflammation,
scar tissue may oevelop within
and around the joint. Adhesive
capsulitis can progress to the point
where the shoulder is rendered
immobile, hence the name "frozen
shoulder." The key to effectively
treating this condition is early
intervention. Proper shoulder
function and motion can be restored
by addressing both joint mechanics
and supporting muscles.
We recognize that adhesive
capsulitis probably comes closest to
what patients are thinking of when
they use the archaic generic ter'm
"frozen shoulder," The chiropractic
approach to health care is natural.

Shelton incoming junior Taylor Stroud lines
up a free throw during a girls' basketball
fundraiser on Saturday. With 18 basketball
players in attendance, the fundraiser brought
in approximately $1,500 for the program.
Incoming sophomore Serena Ranney made the
most number of free throws, knocking down
83 of 100 shots. SHS head girls' basketball
coach Aaron Leth said the varsity team shot 70
percent from the line. He said the fundraiser
went well, but some of the girls who only
garnered one-time donations rather than
per-free throw donations did not attend.
