2023 high school sports season in
Washington.
Among the top finishers at the state meets
2023 All-Mason County team.

during the spring were North Mason’s Kezlie
Thygesen, Shelton’s Jacob Miller and Olivia
Henry, who were among the top six finishers
in their respective events at the state track
and field meet at Mount Tahoma High
School.
Thygesen, Miller and Henry, all seniors,
joined junior Anthony Sanchelli in earning

North Mason High School senior
Dakota Filer signed his letter of in-
tent June 13 at the Belfair school
to play college football at Montana
State University—Northern in the
fall.
MSU-Northern is in Havre, Mon-
tana, less than an hour from the Ca—
nadian border.
The NAIA school competes in the
Frontier Athletic Conference, which
includes Montana Western and East-
ern Oregon.
Filer, who was named to the Jour-
nal’s All-Countyroffense as a wide re—
ciever and a first-team alleOlympic
League selection at Wide receiver. He
was also named a second-team all—
Olympic League kick returner.

Pruitt, Miller and Thygesen have also
earned two MVP awards during this-year,
with Miller and Thygesen having claimed
honors in cross country and Pruitt winning
‘Most Valuable Bowler.
In boys tennis, J ayden Lovingfoss and
Wyatt Wagner become the second co-MVPs
for combining" as a doubles team to make it
to the state tournament. ’
In total, 36 student~athletes representing
nine sports are being honored. '
Later this summer, the Journal will an-
nouce the recipients of this year’s Boys Ath—
lete of the Year, Girls Athlete of the Year,
Boys Coach of the Year and Girls Coach of
the year.
