Barbara Anne Skillman- Barbara Anne Skillman, 76, passed away in her home on May 28, 2023. Barbara was born on May 13, 1947 in Shelton, WA to Floyd and Virginia Fuller. She was an Irene S. Reed High School Graduate, Class of 1965. She met her husband Larry Skillman, also from Shelton, in 1965 and they married in Berkeley, CA in September 1965. Barbara retired from the Shelton School district where she worked as a Para-Educator and Homeless Liaison. Barbara loved spending time at the ocean, camping, working in her garden, her dogs. and most of all, spending time with her family. She‘is survived by her husband of 57 years, Larry Skillman, daughters, Shannon Anderson (Larry), Heather N acht (Andy), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sisters, Lorrie Logston and Connie Wright, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sorrin-law Andy Nacht. A Celebration of Life. will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.111. at the Arcadia Fire Hall— 2970 SE Arcadia Rd, Shelton, WA The gathering will be potluck style so please bring your favorite dish and your memories of Barb. Carol Ann Spracklin Anchor Point resident, Mrs. Carol Ann Spracklin, 57, died Tuesday, April 25. 2023, in Anchor Point, AK. She was born August 21, 1965, in Auburn, Washington. She graduated high school and attended college courses for a few years before moving on. She moved to Alaska in 2021 to live in Anchor Point. Carol worked at O’Reilly’s in Homer for a few years. She loved fishing, going outdoors, going to the beach, clamming, oyster shucking, collecting bells, and collecting spoons. The family wrote, “Loving wife, best friend, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. Willing to help when needed whether it was small or large. She was the type of person if you needed advice, she could always give good advice. She loved showing her grandkids off and would Video chat with them any chance she could. She would talk with her mother every day. She was always proud of her son and her daughter. She fell in love with Alaska. Her love for people showed through her work at O’Reilly’s. She loved seeing all the wildlife out at her house as well as in town.” She is survived her husband, Doug Spracklin of Anchor Point; mother, Carolyn Jewell of Illinois; brother, Tom (Lisa) Jewell of Illinois; sister, N ena Grimes of Illinois; son, Forrest Spracklin of Washington; daughter, Molly Spracklin of Washington; grandson’s, Robert Spracklin of Washington, and Kenneth Archer of Washington. ' Martha Ann Gomez, who went by Mardi, was born on July 29, 1951 in Trinidad, Colorado. She was the ninth of twelve , children born to Beningo and Feliciana Gomez. Her father was a coal miner and her mother a homemaker. She grew up in Segundo and graduated from Primero High School in 1969. Mardi was known for her beauty and her free spirit. In her youth she hitchhiked across the country and spent time in Drop City, an iconic, artistic hippie commune. She also. lived in lVlassach usetts and California before settling in Washington in May 01'1977, where she spent the next years. She worked for a period of time as an advocate for youths who she affectionately referred to as “her kids” for the rest of her life. Mardi gave birth to six children, most of which were born at home with the help of midwives and a full audience of family and friends. She loved her children fiercely and instilled in them a true grit for the tough times in life. She loved turquoise jewelry, ceramics, artwork and rock and roll music. She made the best potato salad and Thanksgiving stuffing. ‘ Her grandchildren called her Mae Mae. She has left a legacy of tenacious children and grandchildren. She will be remembered and she will be missed. - Mardi is survived by her children; Mike DeMiero, Tony DeMiero, Tiana Williams, Marissa DeMiero, Paul DeMiero and step—daughter N akia DeMiero. Daughter—in-laws, J annel Borseth and Alison DeMiero, son-in—law Alex Williams, grandchildren; Tanner Michaelis, Jordan DeMiero, Constance DeMiero, Cole DeMiero, Acacia Brown, Kale! Brown, Liam Lawin, Lilly Lawin, Riley DeMiero, Ikaika Peralta, Ivan Peralta, Raymond Mann, Lauren Burrell and Tristan , Douglas, great-granddaughter; Avery Jean Hall—Ash. Siblings; Jean Romero, Cecilia St. Amand, Ben Gomez, Antoinette Porter and Lynn Medina. As well as numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is resting in heaven with her parents, daughter Acacia DeMiero and siblings Carmen Graham, Juanita Martinez, Pat Gomez, Phyllis Gomez, Arlene McHaffie and Tony Gomez.
