Dies In Hospital
Dies In California
Leo S. Bishop, Rt. 2 Box 74,
died Sunday in the Mason General
Hospital at the age of 62 years.
He was born March 24, 1908,
in Oberlin, Kansas. He had lived
in this area for the past 48 years.
He owned and operated a
barber shop in Shelton, and was a
Navy veteran of World War I1. He
was a member of St. David's
Episcopal Church, and a member
of the Chamber of Commerce: He
belonged to the American Legion,
the Western Washington State
Horsemen's Association, and the
Silver Stars Riding ('lub. tle was
past president of the Bell Riders
Saddle Club and past president of
the Pacific Zone ttorsemen's
Club. He was a former members
of the Mason County Sheriff's
Posse.
He is survived by his wife
Evelyn of the home; a son,
Douglas, of Shelton: a grandson: a
sister, Mrs. Lulu Jurgensen of San
Jose, Calif.; and a foster sister,
Mrs. Marie Schlutz. Garden
Grove, Calif.
The funeral will be held at 11
a .m. today in St. David's
Episcopal Church with Father
Donald Maddox officiating and
burial in Shelton Memorial Park.
The family requests
memorials to St. David's
Epsicopal Church in lieu of
flowers.

Will Rogers
Elizabeth C. Johnson died
Saturday in Santa Cruz, Calif. at
the age of 80. She had been a
resident of Shelton for many
years, and had lived in Santa Cruz
for the past month.
She was a member of the
Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She was born Jan. 7, 1890, in
Knoxville, Tenn.
She is survived by her
husband, Arthur L. Johnson, of
Santa Cruz; two daughters, Mrs.
Garnet Westmoreland, Santa
Cruz, and Mrs. Ester McMackin,
Brelnerton; three sons, Clair of
Applegate, Calif., Russell of
Eugene, Ore., and Walter of
(;arden Grove, Calif.;15
grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
The service wa.s held
Wednesday in the Batstone
Funeral home and burial was in
Shelton Memorial Park.
