In an endeavor to encourage life long reading, Lister has been coming to Bordeaux for three years each spring to read to first-graders. This year students listened to [Ize Rattletrap Car" by Phyllis Root and then voted on whether to read "The Napping House" by Audrey Wood or "The Three Little Rigs" by David Gordon. Following the read-aloud the classes the students made an oath to use and share their surprise gift, which turned out to be a personalized book. Lester's final message to the children was: you can read, you can do anything."
