LOOKIN' FOR A HOME
Adopt-a-Pet
Adopt-a-Pet is a nonprofit volunteer group whose place-
ment services, kennels and spay-neuter assistance pro-
gram are financed through monthly garage sales held on
the second Saturday of the month at 210 Grove Street. All
dogs are vet-checked and spayed or neutered.
Call 432-3091 to set up a kennel visit. To donate items
call 426-4269. For spay-neuter assistance call 426-5523.

Feline Friends
Feline Friends is a nonprofit volunteer group whose mis-
sion is rescuing and finding homes for homeless, abused or
abandoned cats and kittens. The group provides foster care
in volunteers' homes until the animals can be placed in per-
manent homes. Adoption fee includes spay-neuter service,
feline AIDS test and parasite control. To adopt a kitten or
adult cat, call 426-2588 or 360-866-0599. Donations are ac-
cepted at P.O. Box 27, Shelton, 98584.
Kitten Rescue
Kitten Rescue of Mason County is a nonprofit volunteer
group that rescues and finds homes for abandoned kittens.
Adoption fee includes spay-neuter service, feline leukemia
test and immunizations. Quarterly garage sales support
the group.

City of Shelton
Animal Shelter
Adoptions cost $75 plus $5 for a city license. New dogs
are brought in all the time. Call 427-7503 or visit the shel-
ter at 902 West Pine Street. Dogs currently available may

MEETING AGENDA
Kiwanis meets Tuesday
Jessica Handy will be speaking on Mason County youth
programs on Tuesday, July 7, at the noon meeting of the
Shelton Kiwanis to be held at Xinh's Clam and Oyster
House at 3rd and Railroad streets in downtown Shelton.
Mountain climber to speak
On Thursday, July 9, at 6:30 p.m. the Lilliwaup
Community Club will host its monthly potluck at the
Lilliwaup Community Clubhouse on Highway 101. Bring
meat to be grilled and a side dish or dessert, as well as
your own dinnerware. Barbecue grills will be on site.
Immediately following the potluck, local resident and
mountain climber Eric Ellis will offer a presentation on
"Mount Olympus -- Monarch of the Olympics." This
25-minute slide show will include the European discovery,
exploration and a brief search activity of Mt. Olympus. It
will include a virtual climb originating in the Ho Rain
Forest to the summit. Everyone is welcome.
Women's club will picnic
The Mason County Republican Women's Club will have
a picnic at Callanan Park, 400 West Fifth Street on Friday,
July 10. A potluck lunch will be served at 11:30, and the
meeting will begin at noon. The topic will be Shelton and
Mason County parks with Shelton Parks and Recreation
Supervisor Mark Zeigler, and Mason County Parks and
Trails Supervisor John Keates, who will speak about the
recreational opportunities available in our area. The
meeting is open to all. For more information contact

[] Thisyear's American Business Women's Day Luncheon will be held Friday, September
18, 2009 from I 1:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at MGH in the Ellinor Room. Tickets are $25 per person.

[] FREE CPR CLASS AT HOSPITAL... It is time to learn CPR - FREE at MGH's next Adult,
Child, and Infant CPR class on Thursday, September 24, 2009 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the
Washington Room at MGH. Everyone attending the class is asked to wear comfortable
clothes. There will also be a Spanish interpreter on site. Advanced registration is
recommended, as class size is limited. Pre-registration is required by Thursday, September
17 by calling (360) 427-3609.
[] Next "Living Well With Diabetes" 3-day class is set for Tuesday to Thursday, September
8, 9, and 10, starting at 9 a.m. each day in the Ellinor Room at MGH. Advanced registration
is required. Most health insurances cover a significant portion of this service. To register
