The Shelton High School Class of
2020 has six valedictorians: Ethan Bur—
sch, Aaron Boothe, Kevin Major, Beau
Henry, Sirius James and Stephen Gon—
czi.

sent a questionnaire to the live gradu—
ates who expressed an interest in shar~
ing their thoughts and plans. Bursch
was featured in our graduation special
section last week. Here are the respons-
es from James and Major:
SIRIUS JAMES
1. What activities and clubs were you
involved in at Shelton High School?
I was involved in cross-country,
track and field, NJROTC, National
Honor Society and Class (IounciI. Of
those activities, I was the executive of-
l’icer morning of the NJROTU unit, a
member of the National Honor Society
Executive Board and the (Ilass of 2020
president.
2. What are your post-graduation
plans?
After graduation, I am attending the
University ofWashington on a full ride
scholarship through the NJI{(')TC pror
gram. I am majoring in political science
and upon graduation. I will commission
in the US. Marine Corps as a second
lieutenant.
3. What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become an infan—

try officer in the Marine Corps.
4. What are your fondest memories
at Shelton High School?
My fondest memories of Shelton
High School include the activities I
participated in. My favorite memories
are traveling all around Washington to
race for the track team. I also enjoyed
having the opportunity to command
Shelton High School’s award—winning -'
Armed Drill team.
5. What Shelton High School em-
ployee had the most positive effect
on you, and why?
The SIIS staff members that had
the greatest impact on me were the
NJRUTC instructors: Sgt. Major Her—
nandez and LCDR Hood. They provid-
ed an excellent classroom environment
that fostered feelings of confidence and

pride in cadets. Both instructors taught
me important lessons in leadership and
other essential life lessons. Overall.
Hernandez and Hood influenced who I
am and what I want to do.
KEVIN MAJOR
1. What activities and clubs were you
involved in at Shelton High School?
I was involved in Key Club, Future
Business Leaders of America, Knowl-
edge Bowl, Honors Society and the As~
sociated Student Body. I served as an
officer in all ofthose, and was president
of Key Club, IFBLA and Knowledge
Bowl.
2. What are your post-graduation
plans?
I am enrolling in the University of
Washington, where I plan to pursue a
degree in aerospace engineering. I plan
on pursuing as many internships and
extracurricular career development
opportunities as possible so that I can
quickly enter the workforce in a well—
paying position.
3. What is your dream job?
I see the exploration and industri-
alization of space as the next frontier
for humanity, and would love to work
to help progress our species in that
domain. Most of all I want to do some-
thing meaningful that will have a true
impact on our future, creating a better
world for everyone on and olt' it.
4. What are your fondest memories
at Shelton High School?
Knowledge Bowl was one of my fa-
vorite activities atSHS. and the mem—
ories and friends I made there, will be
cherished forever. I had a lot of fun
at both practices and competitions,
and I higth recommend it to any new
and current students. It’s definitely
a great way to meet new people and
learn a lot!
5. What Shelton High School em-
ployee had the most positive effect
on you, and why?
There have been so many teachers
at SHS that have had a huge impact
on my life that I couldn’t pick any
single one as the most influential. I
want to thank all of them for serving
as an inspiration to me in so many
ways. as well as supporting the de-
velopment of my educational career
to where it is today.
