Huff'n’ Puff gets new
wood chip surface
The Huff ‘n’ Puff Trail has reopened with a new
trail surface, the City of Shelton announced last
week.
Crews recently removed dead and dangerous
trees from the 1.8—mile trail, located on North Shel-
ton Springs Road, before resurfacing it using wood
chips. Sierra Pacific Industries’ Shelton Mill do-
nated the wood chips.
According to a city news release, crews this year
spent more than 300 hours removing trees before
spreading the wood chips.
“The new surface will provide for a cleaner,
all-weather surface for both runners and walkers
alike,” the city stated in the release. '
“Trail users will also be able to better identify
the trail route.”
