So their hoping each and everyone of you will come out to drive across the bridge and then drive on up to the Hall and stay for a while to kick up your heels to the music of The Little Blue Echoes. As you come across the bridge make it a slow leisurely drive so that everyone can enjoy a beautiful view of Pickering Passage both to the North and especially to the South. The height of the bridge gives a bird's eye view of a picture pretty scene. At the first stop sign after leaving the bridge take a left hand turn, follow the new dirt road up the hill to where it joins the black top and turn to the right onto the black top and drive on it for about 3Vz miles to the Community tlall. About midnight there will be a break in the music for a lunch of sandwiches, salad and pie, coffee and pop, preparcd by the lsaland's cooks. Harstine's faithful ferry bid a fond adieu for the last time last Firday morning when her mooring were untied for the last time from the dock which, for so many years has been her only home. About 8 a.m. she quietly headed south down Pickering Passage around Ragged Point and across to Longbranch and north toward her new life as workboat on Orcas Island and in the Gulf Islands for her new owner, Norton Clapp. Martin Goetsch delivered the Grand Old Lady to her new owner, who took over the wheel for part of the voyage and seemed very pleased with his new vessel. The Dunlaps, Pat and John had as there first out of town guests recently, Pat's Mother, Betty Amick of Tacoma and her friend, Helen Alecksich. The two guests drove down Saturday to see the progress the new Island couple has done on their property here. Some of the Harstine Grange gals paid Dorothy Chapman of Pickering a surprise visit last Wednesday afternoon. A number of the gals went together and Legal Publications presented the new mother with a' pre-arrangement Gyneth Auueth gift certificate for the then three and her daushter, Carol and an week old addition to the aunt who was visiting also Chapman family.
