81-year-old aces Bayshore
Eighty-one-year-old golfer
Harry Leeberg of Tumwater reg-
istered a hole-in-one at Bayshore
last week.
The visiting retiree aced the
166-yard seventh hole during a
practice round with Shelton's Fred
Wiggins and Robert Halfhill. He
used his driver, "because I can't
hit very far anymore," quipped the
19-handicapper, who's been play-
ing the game 25 years now.
It was the third hole-in-one of
Harry's career. He aced his first
one in Mesa, Arizona, back in
1991, he says, and then registered
#2 just this past March in Yelm.
"And at my age I don't look to get
many more," he says, laughing.
And was this one as exciting as
the others?
"Oh! You bet!" says the retired
beerman, who worked at the Olym-
pia Brewery for fully 35 years.
Incidentally, he adds, last
week's memorable stroke ap-
peared initially to be nothing
more than errant. "We looked
for five minutes to find that ball!"
he says. "Finally Fred says, 'Look
in the darn cup!'"

Second (tie) - Gayle Wilcox & Barb Eber-
hardt and Ann Johnson & Adele Scott, 125.
Third - Marie Bierward & Mary Lou Traut-
mann, 127.
The ladies also waged "Best

June 27, to these ends:
First division - Ann Johnson 313, Rita
Lipinski 32.5 and Joyce Reynolds 35.
Second division - Adele Scott 29.5, Ann
Wooten 33 and Mary Lou Trautmann 33.5.
