Meetings
set on
county plan
Beginning next week the
Mason County Planning
Commission will meet with
citizens of the county at four
different meeting places. These
meetings stem from a public
meeting held by the planning
commission June 19 about the
Mason County Comprehensive
Plan currently being written and
reviewed.
The meetings coming up will
provide an open discussion of
the comprehensive plan with the
planning commission members at
the sub-area level. In this way
the members can speak with
sub-area residents on
planning.related issues and
problems of local concern. The
planning commission also hopes
to better relate to the county
citizens how it operates as a
public decision-making body.
Four sub-area committees
around the county met eight
times each this spring to help
develop and review the goals and
policies section of the Mason
County Comprehensive Plan. The
coming meetings will be an
extension of those meetings and
set the stage for the completion
of the comprehensive plan.
The meeting dates and places
re: (1) South Mason sub-area at
ittle Skookum Community
Hall, July 12; (2) North Shelton
Environs sub-area at Pioneer
School, July 13; (3)
Olympic/Skokomish sub-area at
Hoodsport Firehall, July 20; and
(4) North Mason sub-area at
Belfair Firehall, July 25.
All meetings begin at 7:30
p.m.
All interested citizens are
welcome to attend whether or
not they have attended any
previous sub-area rneetings.
