Postal Inspection , Service. “When we have bur- glaries of this nature in the same area around the same time we always investigate them as if they may be con- nected.” Wiegand said the Allyn Post Office burglary was re- Allyn moves 1 forward with Sweetwater, Oyster House ported in late June. On Sun- day, a Grapeview resident reported a burglary at the Grapeview office. Grapeview resident Carla Froome told the Herald that her husband went to pick up 1 mail Sunday morning and discovered more than just their box was burglarized. “Our mailbox was empty except for the key (mail carri- ers) normally put in the door when they have packages,” Froome said. “(Through the door) he could see into the back where there was a whole lot of ripped up packages with stuff all over.” The Port of Grapeview sent an email Monday afternoon‘ that said keys were stolen Friday from the Grapeview By Isabella Breda isabel/a@masoncoumy. com Two Port of Allyn projects are com- ing to fruition. The Grapeview and Allyn Post Offices will operate on limited hours, from a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Sat- urdays until further notice. “You get a locked post of- fice box to feel a little more secure,” Froome said. “And’ now we find out it’s not all that secure.” Wiegand said the suspects appeared around 1 to 2 a.m. and any suspicious activity should be reported to law en- forcement.
