Boysen
Clarence Frederick
(Fred) Boysen passed
away on Saturday June
27th of natural causes
at the age of 86. He was
born on January 27,
1934 to Ruth Evangeline
Weirauch (23) and Hen-
ry Frederick Boysen (23)
in Pierre, South Dakota.
Fred arrived along
with his mother and
brother Bill in Shelton
on Nov. 8, 1937 to join
his father who had ar-
rived earlier. He gradu-
ated from Shelton High
School in 1951 and then
went to work for Simp-
son Timber Co at the
Mill. Then he joined the
Army for two years and
then went back to work
for Simpson Boom. He
then went to work for
Manke Lumber Com—
pany at the Port Tacoma
~ as a crane operator.
He also started a
nursery business at Tay-
lor Towne. He then went
to work in Real estate
for several years and
then retired.
He is survived by
his youngest son, Rick
James Boysen of Shelton,
two brothers Bill and his
wife Pam, and Ron Boy-
sen of Shelton. One sister
Sandy and her husband
Pat Carney of Union.
Brother-in—law Don Yeck,
sister—in-law Sally Cook,
Bernie Cline, Betty Bellis
and Patty Christian. Sev-
en grandchildren and nu—
merous great grandchil-
dren and one great—great
grandson with numerous
nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in
death by his loving wife
Barb of 53 years togeth-
er, His oldest son Steve
Boysen and his only
daughter Terri Bush
and youngest grandson,
Michael Bush and broth-
er-in-law Jack Yeck.
As requested no ser—
vice will be arranged.

Lewis Collins, Jr., age
83, passed away peace—
fully at the home of his
daughter in Anchor-
age, Alaska on April
30, 2020. Ray was born
to Raymond Lewis Col-
lins, Sr. and Myrtle
Anna Frieda (Dittman)
Collins on May-2, 1936
in Shelton, Washing—
ton.
Ray was a man of
God and known for his
wisdom. His service
in the US. Army from
November, 1955 to Oc-
tober 1958 included
a stint in Anchorage,
Alaska where he was
assigned to surveying
the poles and telephone
lines along the Alcan
Highway.
He became a follower
of Jesus Christ while
attending a young adult
meeting at Central Lu-
theran Church in An—
chorage which set the
course _of his life. Upon
ending his tour of duty,
he went to the Luther-
an Bible Institute in
Seattle Washington
where he met his bride,
Sally Jo Bonnett and
they were married on
June 6, 1959. Together
they decided to join the
Wycliffe Bible Transla-
tors upon graduation
and accepted an assign—
ment to translate thé
Bible into the Upper
Kuskokwim Athabas-
can language. This as-
signment required spe-
cialized training in lin-
guistics in Oklahoma,
a jungle survival train—
ing camp in southern
Mexico and a brief in-
ternship with another
Wycliffe couple in Arc-
tic Village, Alaska in
the spring of 1963 prior
to moving to Nikolai,
Alaska.
In 1971, Ray moved
his family to McGrath,
Alaska for access to
high school for their

Ray and Sally J0 pub-
lished “Dichinanek’
Hwt’ana: A History of
the People of the Upper
Kuskokwim Who Live
in Nikolai and Telida,
Alaska” for the Denali
National Park and Pre-
serve. In 2010, Ray and
Sally J0 were formally
inducted into the Niko-
lai Edzeno’ Tribe as rec-
ognition of their years
of service.
Ray was a founding
member, pastor and
helped design and build
the McGrath Commu-
nity Church where he
continued serving as a
fill-in pastor to the date
of his death. Over the'
years, Ray officiated at
many weddings and fu-
nerals for community
members of McGrath,
Nikolai and Telida.
His interest in edu-
cation and community
service continued over
the years as he served
for over 40 years on the
Board of the Iditarod
Area School District
and worked as coordi-
nator of the McGrath
Center of the Univer-
sity of Alaska where
he taught anthropology
and linguistics to stu-
dents all over the state.
He was a member of the
Alaska Humanities Fo-
rum, State Bilingual/
Bicultural Advisory
committee and helped
the villages of Nikolai
and Telida in filing for
Native claims and allot-

More recently, he
served on many state
and federal fish and
wildlife committees for
the Western Region,
and Upper Kuskokwim

Athabascan people.
He is survived by his
wife, Sally Jo (Bonnett)

Jerri Sisson—Kenyon,
48, died unexpectedly on
Friday, June 25, 2020,
in Shelton, WA, .at her
home, of natural causes.
She was born Septem—
ber 20th 1971, in Shelton,
WA. She enjoyed watch-
ing movies and spending
time at home with her
family and her cats, Hen-
ryetta and Manno.
She is survived by her
daughter Felisha Fager-
gren, sons, Cody and Kyle
Wright, grandchildren,
Kayleb Sisson-Giles,
Bethany Gordon, Kacelee
Escoto-Wright, and Em-
bree Escoto, parents Ron
and Maxine Giles, sib-
lings Roy Sisson and Rac-
quel Giles, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
A small celebration of
life will be held with close
friends and family. She is
truly missed.

Jones
Larry J. Jones, a resi-
dent of Shelton, died
May 22, 2020, at age 74
at Providence St. Peter
Hospital.
He was born May 31,
1945, in Oldham, South
Dakota to Gordon and
Grace (Eads) Jones.
He is survived by his
brother Keith, wife Cathy
and daughter Jamie,
and two grandsons. He
was preceded in death by
daughter Randi, brothers
Claude, Leroy and Rod'-'
ney, as well as hisparents.
Larry was renowned
for his sense .of humor,
often regaling his friends
and family around the
card table for hours. He '
also enjoyed spending
time on his fishing boat
and riding lawnmower.
,There will be a cel-
ebration of life held at
a later time, at his per-
sonal residence.
