’Valda Jean
Womer
Valda Jean Womer,
born November 24, 1930,
passed away on Sun-
day, March 22, 2020.
She lived a long life sur-
rounded by her family
with whom she was very
close.
Jean, as she liked
to be called, was born
in Cheraw, Colorado to
Oscar Oris andlMildred
Louella Unruh.
She had five chil-
dren and is survived by
daughters Jean Wyatt
(Rich) and Kay Ramsay
(Jim), stepson Daniel
Womer, and daughter-
in-law Christine Tolson;
grandchilden Gabrielle
Ramsay and Sarah Segu-
ra (Gabe), William (Billy)
Tolson Jr, Lawrence
(Larry) Tolson, Jennifer
Tolson and Trisha Mae,
eight great grandchil-
dren and 1 great-great
grandchild. Among her
many great-grandchil-
dren, she was especially
close to Kylie, Austin,
Phoebe and Aaliyah.
She was preceded in
death by her husband
Delbert v Womer, and
three of her children,
Susan Lee Tolson, Rob-
ert Lee Tolson and Wil-
liam Lawrence Tolson as
well as granddaughter,
Heather Ann Miller.
Jean moved to Wash— '
ington State in 1972 and
lived in Shelton for 30
years. She had a long
career with the Wash-
ington State Secretary
of State’s Elections De-
partment and while she
officially retired in 1997,
she continued to work
part time for a number
of years following that.
Prior to that she was an
elementary school teach-
er in California and at
the Hood Canal Elemen-
tary school, and owned a
craft supply business in
Olympia with her hus-
band Del. She spent her
last five years at Alpine
Way in Shelton where
she made fast friends
with residents and staff.
In Jean’s free time she
enjoyed knitting, quilt-
ing, gardening, reading,
and spending time with
her family. She had a
love for collecting Boyd’s
bears, tea cups, milk
glass, and anything wie—
ner dog related. She filled
the room with her love for
others and never failed
to make everyone laugh.
Jean is greatly missed by
her family, friends, and
all those who had the
honor of knowing her.
A graveside service
will be held at Shelton
Memorial Park on July
17, 2020 at 1pm. In lieu
of flowers donations may
be made to Hospice/Prov-
idence SoundHomeCare
in‘Shelton.
