litor, The Journal: up missing, at the clinic the lady who stopped
Often we don't see the caring I called the Shelton Veterinary to get her out of the road and called
pnure of people throughout our Clinic, where the officer who re- for help called the vet to see if she
nmunity. I recently got to ex-
: 8[rience that caring nature when
ill@ best friend, a 5-year-old dachs-
hd terrier dog named Kakomae,
reappeared due to the fireworks
! our neighborhood.
She got out of our fence on July
and we could not find her. She
t confused and ended u a lon

side!! searching for her and putting
ran dozens of fliers for her, I re-

me'rOSS town from where she came
sponded to the incident took her. I
raced home from work, and it was
her. She was really broken up and
in bad shape. She suffered two bro-
ken legs and a broken jaw. After
two days of care by the vets at the
clinic they did not see much hope
to fix her front leg, and the only so-
lution was to put her to sleep. This
little dog had gotten me though so
much over the past three years I
could not bear to lose her.
The vet took more X rays and
tried one last attempt to get her
leg into socket. The day I was sup-
posed to go decide to put her down
they were able to set her leg. They
kept her an additional two days
before releasing her. While I was
was okay. I was able to thank her
for saving my friend.
When the time came to pay the
vet bill I was shocked that the clin-
ic had cut some costs and assisted
me with the bill for my friend. The
vets at this clinic took very good
care of her beyond their jobs.
This little dog helped me when
my life was at its worst. She helped
me get through treatment and
other obstacles in my lifb. I ap-
preciate all the people who helped
bring my best friend home to me
and the kindness and the caring
I experienced in this community
during this ordeal.
