SOUTH SHORE CABIN BURNS An early-morning blaze last Wednesday destroyed an unoccupied cabin on South Shore Road three miles west of Belfair. Eight Belfair fire volunteers responded with three engine trucks and a tanker to the 12:11 a.m. alarm at the one-bedroom cabin. They finished their mop-up two hours later. Firemen blamed the blaze on an electrical malfunction. Neighbors said they heard "cracking and popping" before the fire was reported. Esther Day of Bremerton is reportedly the owner. Last Thursday's minus tide revealed a moss-covered beach in a small cove on Pickering Passage. BELFAIR COMMUNITY BAPTIST P.O. BOX 407 John Senn, Pastor Church phone -- 275-6031 10 a.m...
