rate was 2 times as great as the

Olympia, 2.5; Port Townsen, 4.3;

The report also indicated that
particle fallout at nine locations
in Aberdeen, McCleary,
Raymond, Shelton and Port
Angeles, exceeded the state air
quality standards.

In a standing position with a
foot firmly planted on the back
of each, Ginger raced her two
horses around the arena and over
the j qmps. As an encore she
duplicated the feat with the
addition of a third horse. To
climax'her act, she rode a running
and jumping team of no less than
five horses.
As a child in Ohio, where she
was born, Ginger Dodge worked
professionally with horses. She
was employed by a man who ran
a pony ride operation, and Ginger
did a little bit of everything
required in the handling of the
ponies.
According to her Dad, Ginger
would have had horses in the
house with her if her mother
hadn't objected. As an alternative
she was given to spending much
of her time in the stables.
She attended Pearce
Agricultural College in the San
Fernando Valley, after which she
stayed with friends in South
Dakota. It was there that she
learned Roman riding and
embarked on a career of rodeo
performance which took her on
tours all over the United States.
In 1937 she returned to
Southern California, and three
years ago she and her husband,
Cliff, came to Washington. They
have two sons, Tim and Guy.
Mrs. Dodge is top wrangler at
the Double L Corral at Lake
Limerick. The Dodges own and
operate the Lake Limerick Riding
Stables and the Lake Cushman
Riding Stables. While her husband
manages the Lake Cushman
project, Ginger is in charge at
Lake Limerick where with the
u ion
assistance of her son, she handles
15 horses. "I do everything but
the shoeing," she says, "and Cliff
does that."
The saddle string includes
horses sufficiently safe and gentle
for small children or beginners,
and also those with spirit to
please more experienced riders.
Miles of wooded trails wind
through the surrounding country.
A registered quarterhorse mare,
"Glo-Bar" is owned by Guy. She
is a copper red chestnut, gentle
and intelligent and, Ginger states,
"like a cat on her feet." Foals will
be raised from her, and she will be
shown.

basic color is dark brown, and her

on.
Family pets include three dogs,
which belong, says Ginger, to her
husband and sons. She plans to
buy a very special dog for herself
one of these days.
Ginger doesn't seem to miss the
excitement of her rodeo days.
"As long as I'm busy with horses,
I'm happy," she said.
