vide the start of a yearly scholarship at
the high school is unknown as yet, she
adds, but certainly that goal is looking
more and more attainable.
Especially if the Port of Shelton's
commissioners deem the events wor-
thy of similar repetition in the future
- and that would seem to be the case,
according to Terra Dittmer, the port's
public information officer.
"Yeah, I'm sure we'd be an advocate
for an event again next year," she says.
"It was a good weekend."
AS FOR THE naysayers' timeworn
notion that drag racing brings in dis-
reputable sorts best kept out of the
munity, that may be
hardly defensible, as Peggy Zamzo¢
it.
"Drag racing in years
a bad rap fbr that," she says. "But
couldn't be further from the truth.
"There's a lot of just really nice
involved..."
