This year, Thompson
participated in an art
show at Union's Traveler
Days and won the popular
choice category. Lt. Gov-
ernor Brad Owen and his
wife were at the art show.
and offered to exhibit one
of Thompson's pieces at
his office at the state capi-
tol.
He picked Thompson's
large painting of a bull
from a picture she took at
the Puyallup Fair, which is
accentuated with the acryl-
zc gel to make it look three-
dimensional.
"Things like the horns
and the part of his knees
that are moving forward
are protruding from the
canvas," Thompson said.
However, after Owen
and his wife reviewed
Thompson's collection of
Mamie Eisenhower Fudge

4 Tbsp butter

art, the group decided to
exhibit 28 pieces of her
work at Owen's office.
"They've never had that
many pieces." Thompson
said. "I was really hon-
ored."
Thompson said she is
excited to show her grand-
children the exhibit, and
hopes they will be proud
of their grandmother.

The next senior lunch will
be Wednesday. They will have
baked chicken, mashed potatoes
and gravy with green beans,
rolls and butter along with
"not yo mama's" banana pud-
ding. If that sounds good to you
make sure you are at the com-
munity hall a little before noon
on the 25th. All they ask is a
$3 donation and a good appe-
tite. This senior lunch crew has
been volunteering their time for
years now -- so maybe when you
are eating lunch, a round of ap-
plause for the servers would be
in order.
