Bergeson
Pearl R. Bergeson, born
12, 1910 in Canada,
last Thursday in her Sheiton
at tile age of 67 years.
She was a Shelton resident
most of her life, and in the
i0s owned and operated
Care in Shelton. Her
bbies included painting,
toning and sewing.
lrs. Bergeson was preceded
h by her husband, Harry,
January of 1978. She is
by a son, Gene Bergeson
Sheiton; two brothers, Glen
of Arizona and Bill
of California; two
rs, Naomi Jones of
and Eveleyn Kinney
of Hood River, Oregon; her
mother, Grace Hampton of
Shelton; and by three
grandchildren.
Pastor Kurt Hardenbrook
officiated at graveside services
held 1 p.m. Monday in the
Garden Chapel of Shelton
Memorial Park. Arrangements
were under the direction of
Batstone Funeral Home.
Robert Brilliant
Robert W. Brilliant, born
November 9, 1911 in Brooklyn,
New York, died on July 12 in
Mesa, Arizona where services
were held in Green Acres
Mortuary on Monday. Interment
was in Green Acres Memorial

Mr. Brilliant is survived by
his wife, Norma, of Mesa; two
sons, Bruce and John, both of
Mesa; Judy Cummins of Mesa;
Jacqualine Bradley of Montana;
six grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
Beryle Faubert
Beryle Faubert, a long-time
resident of the Shelton area, died
Monday in Fir Lane Terrace
Convalescent Center at the age
of 80 years. She was born
January 22, 1898 in Valley,
Washington.
She retired as a teacher in
the public school system, and
was a member of Retired
Teachers Association. During her
lifetime she was active in Zonta
Club, American Legion
Auxiliary, and Eight and Forty.
Mrs. Faubert worked with
the Cancer Society. She was a
member of St. Edward's Catholic
Church.
Her husband was Edward
Faubert, with whom she owned
and operated the Sheiton Hotel
for many years. Mr. Faubert
preceded his wife in death in
1971.
Father Michael Feeney, OSB,
officiated at Evening Vigil
Services held at 7:30 p.m.
Wednesday in St. Edward's
Catholic Church were Mass of
Christian Burial will be said at
noon today with Father Feeney
officiating. Burial will follow in
Shelton Memorial Park with
arrangements under the direction
of Batstone Funeral Home.
Surviving Mrs. Faubert are
two daughters, Mrs. JoAnn
McComb of Shelton and Mrs.
Lela Jo Rich of Olympia; her
sisters, Mrs. Alta Morris of Coeur
d'Alene, Idaho, and Mrs. Laurel
Hemphill of Seattle; six
grandchildren; and seven
great-grandctfildren.

Kenneth Logan
A service was held at ! p.m.
Tuesday in Washington Memorial
Funeral Home, Seattle, for
Kenneth R. Logan of Seattle
who died on Saturday. Interment
was in Washington Memorial
Park, Seattle.
Mr. Logan was the husband
of Bertha. He was the father of
Robert Logan of Samish Island,
Washington and Mrs. Sharon
Muir of Tacoma. He was the
brother of'William Logan of
Laguna Beach, California,
Clarence Logan of Tacoma and
Mrs. Margaret Anderson of
Lincoln City, Oregon. He had
five grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
Palmer Welander
A graveside service was held
at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Shelton
Memorial Park for Palmer N.
Welander, 86, who died Sunday
in Mason General Hospital.
Pastor Ken Robinson officiated
with arrangements under the
direction of Batstone Funeral
Home.
Mr. Welander was born
February 15, 1892 in Fullerton,
North Dakota. On January 15,
1917 he was married to Alice
Miller in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
The couple lived on the
Welander homestead in North
Dakota. They moved in 1958 to
Valley City, North Dakota and
came to Shelton in 1968. Mr.
Welander attended the Lutheran
Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Alice, of the family home; three
sons, William Welander of
Albany, Oregon, Walter Welander
of Shelton and Raymond
Welander of Tacoma; a daughter,
Mae Iverson of Pendleton,
Oregon; a sister, Emily Jonston
of Horicon, Wisconsin; 14
grandchildren; and 18
great.grandchildren.

Commission has asked a review *
before the Shorelines Hearing
Board on the rejection by the
Department of Ecology of a
proposal for a deck on the new
Alderbrook Inn facilities.
The county commission had
previously approved the
proposed deck and had
submitted the proposal to the
Department of Ecology for
review.
The commission has received
a letter from the Department of
Ecology, stating the project is
inconsistent with the master
program and the criteria for
granting a variance.
Pipeline to
be discussed
The Mason County
Commission has been notified a
meeting has been set for 9:30
a.m. August 18 with Energy
Facility Site Evaluation Council
to review the status of the
Northern Tier Pipeline proposal.
