Journa/ file photo Matt Baide Register for Love INC fundraising golf tournament Golf team registration forms are available for the 12th annual Love INC Golf Tournament & Golf Ball Drop, which is hosted Monday at the Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club in Union. Tickets are also available for the cash—winning golf ball drop staged in conjunction with the golf tournament. The charity event is the primary source of financial support for Love INC (Love in the Name of Christ) Ma- son County and its 25 partner church- es. The nonprofit organization con— nects people in need to Jesus Christ, while providing them with goods and services such as furniture, clothing, blankets, backpacks for kids, diapers, Small Sons 0 l L DlST. Registration fees for teams up to four golfers are $150 per player. The registration fee pays for each golfer’s green fees and gives each player a tee pack that includes a sleeve of three balls. Coffee and doughnuts are provided before the 10 am. shotgun start of the tournament, and players will get meal tickets for the awards assembly at the end of the day. The teams of four are eligible for hundreds of dollars in prize money depending on how they finish. To participate in the GolfBalls from Heaven Ball Drop after the golf tournament, buy a ticket prior to the tournament for the suggested dona— tion of$10 that gets your number on a golf ball that is dropped from a heli- copter over the 18th hole. Win $150 to $2,000 depending on how close your ball falls near the hole. Create botanical print at library workshop Textile artist April Sproule offers a talk and a hands-on botanical print- ing workshop from 10 a.m. to noon July 29 at the Shelton Timberland Library. Sproule, who lived in Fortuna, Calif, is an artist in residence with Hypatia—in-the-Woods. Overdose awareness on Aug. 31, Sept. 1 The seventh annual Mason County Overdose Awareness Walk and Re- source Fair is hosted Aug. 31 at the Timberland Regional Library in Bel- fair, and Sept. 1 at Kneeland Park in Shelton. Everyone is welcome. The events honor the lives lost to overdoses and provide hope to those still struggling. At the Belfair event at 23081 NE state Route 3, the Resource Fair be— gins at 3 p.m., the gathering for the walk begins at 5:45 p.m., and the walk begins at 6:05 pm.
