Lawrence Miles 86,
died July 17, 2011, at Provi-
dence St. Peter's Hospital in
Olymp
He was born June 9, 1925 in
Grand Forks, N.D. to Thomas
and Ellen (Erickson) DurkirL
family moved to Shelton in
1947.
He later
moved to
Hallock,
Minn.
where he
met his wife
Estene Avis
Durkin
(DeRoche).
Durkin She died in
1988. He
later mar-
ried Shirley DeRoche who pre-
ceded him in deatl
Larry worked as a mechanic
at Camp Grisdale when he first
came to SheltorL He spent over
30 years of his career working
as a Teamster and mechanic
for Graystone of SheltorL In his
life he was the family mechanic
and construc~on consultant
and builder on many projects,
building the two family homes.
He was an airplane pilot, wood
carver and golfer. He
fishing, crabbing and catching
shrimp. The family shared that
he loved to travel and restore
pickups.
He is survived by two sens
Rob of Port Orchard
and Rick Durkin (Kathi) of
Tenino~ four grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren and
his faithfid dog Caly.
The funeral service will be
held at 1 p.m. on July 30 at
Mount Olive Lutheran Chumh
in SheltorL

Geraldine Mae Ammom
Geraldine Mae Ammons, 66,
died on Monday, July 11, 2011
in Sheltol~ She was a longtime
resident of Elma
She was bern July 17, 1944
in Seattle, to Ed and Irnm
Stafford. She grew up in Mar-
blemount and is a graduate of
Concrete High School's class of
.1962. She attended Grays Har-
bor ollege for two years.
She married James Avery
Ammons in Marblemount on
November 16, 1962.
In addition to being a home-
maker, she worked at Lamb
Grays Harbor and Century
21. She lived in Port Angeles
and Oce Shores for 42 yeare.
He survives her at their Elma
home. Geraldine was a mem-
ber of the Elma Eagle for over
21 years. She en': ed reading,
traveling and spending time
with her grandchildrerL
She is survived by her hus-
band James Avery Ammons of
more than 48 years; son, Janms
Edward Ammons of Tumwa-
ter, daughter Janette Lynn
Jennings (Craig) of Ocean
Shores; brother, Gordon Staf-
ford of Soap Lake;
sisters in law, Elaine Stafford
of S&ire Wooley, Selah Hopper
of Grefmo, Idaho and
Ammons of Hamilton; grand-
children, Amanda (Homere)
Jamie, Trey Jennings and Matt
Jennings; numerous nieces and
nephews.
She is preceded in death
by her parents and daughter,
Stephanie Ammons.
The family suggests memo-
rial donations be made to Save

Ida Marie Anthony
Ida Marie Anthony, 89, died
Monday, July 4, 2011 of heart
failure at Providence St. Peter
Hospital in Olympia. She was a
resident of Shelton for 20 years.
She was born November 29,
1921 in England, Ark. to Annie
(Wofford) Geforth Henderson
and William V. Gefortl~
She married Lense E.
"Chick" Anthony on September
11, 1943 in Guy, Arl~
She spent her life as a home-
maker. She enjoyed showing
cows and had a state grand
champion Jersey cow. She
played basketball and was
captain of her team that won a
state championship. The fam-
ily shared that she loved to gar-
den.
She is survived by her

Ludla Johnson-Brumm
Luella (Langner) Johnson-
Brumm, 93, died on Saturday
July 9, 2011 at Mason General
Hospital in Shelton with her
family at
her side.
She was
the oldest
of 12 chil-
dren born
to Charles
and Eureka
Langner on
December
Johnson- 21, 1917
Brumm at Phillips,
Wis.
She lived
with her daughter Delores
Johnson in Shelton for almost
four years. In February 2011,
she moved to Shelton Health
and Rehab and was admitted
to Mason General when she
took ill in July.
She is survived by daugh-
ters, Dolores Johnson (Floyd) of
Shelton, Joanne Hamann (Rog-
er) of App!eto Wis., Charlotte
Ziemke of Catawba, WIS.; sons
Clarence "Ed" Riley (Melody)
of Phillips, Wis., Donald "Ray"
