Politicians in D.C, don't get it, Congress is spending too much
time bickering and not enough time getting results.
I understand the challenges people are facing because
l've lived them. I grew up in Port Angeles and Saw the
parents of my friends lose their jobs. My 102-year-old
grandmother depends on Social Security and Medicare.
My parents were both public schoolteachers, and my dad
is in his 46th year of teaching, l've got two daughters--
Sophie who is 6 and Tess who is 3--,.who will depend on
strong public schools, I paid for college with the help of
loans and scholarships. Politicians in D,C, don't understand
what families like ours are going through,
My focus will be on:
* Helping small businesses and getting people back to work.
I work as Vice President of the Economic Development Board
for Tacoma-Pierce County where my job is creating jobs.
* Providing tax relief for middle class families.
* Protecting Social Security and Medicare so all se0iors can
retire with dignity.
* Ensuring middle class families have access
to quality schools and affordable college opportunities,
* Working for military families and veterans.
As we work to balance the budget and get the economy
moving, I'II never forget where I came from. I will fight every
day for middle class families.
I am the qn.[y candidate in this race with a record of working
across the aisle to find solutions to the problems that
Congress has been unable to solve,
This year I passed a bipartisan jobs bill that is expected
to create roughly 18,000 new jobs' in Washington and
drive economic growth in the future. I've brought together
coalition this year to cut waste, make reforms, and balance
the budget.
We need to get Americans working again, We need to get
Congress working again too. It's one thing for candidates
to talk about bipartisanship --it's another thing to actually
have a record of being bipartisan.
