John Hardaway Connolly August 1, 1928 - July 10, 2023 John “Jack” Hardaway Connolly passed away peacefully at the age of 94. He was born in Olympia, Washington, and graduated high school from St. Martins in Olympia and attended St. Martins College and the State College of Washington. Jack was a veteran of the Korean W ar. serving in the 562ml Modical Ambulance Company. Among his many endeavors, he co—owned Shelton Meatpacking Company, was a founder of Romac Industries (manufacturer of pipe products), and farmed coffee in Guatemala. He is predeceased by first wife Lu (Lucille Hemness) Connolly. Jack is survived by his wife Tuey Connolly, daughters Debbie Cowden (Mike), Nancy Blum (Joey), Joan Connolly (David Adee), two sisters, Jill and Colleen; four granddaughters, Danica, Ruby, Marissa, Sarafina, and one great- grandson Otto. A celebration ofJack’s life will be held this Sunday, July 30th 2023, at 2:00 pm. at the Schirm Loop Lavender Farm, 2434 Schirm Loop Road NW, Olympia WA. Ward Villines The youngest of four, Ward was born to William and Carol Villines. After graduating Olympia High School he joined the US. Air Force and served two tours in Vietnam. The same year, he graduated from Georgia State he married his first wife, Judy McKinnon. Years later, Ward married his second wife, Debra Keravich. At the time of his passing the couplehad spent 82 years together. Ward was the owner and manager of Characters Corner Tavern in the community of Steamboat Island. In total, he had worked 44 years at Characters before selling it in 2022. He was an avid golfer and poker player, and was also known for his puns, dad jokes and open heart. He is survived by his wife Debra Villines, his sisters Vicki Clark, Deborah Bransford and their families. As well as, the family of his departed brother Bill. Friends and family are invited to join in a Celebration of Life from 1:00 pm. — 4:00 pm. on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at the Prosperity Grange, located at 3701 Steamboat Island Rd NW, Olympia, WA 98502. Thursday, July 27, 2023 Shelton-Mason County Journal - Page 31 Christopher Joseph Gordon Christopher J oseph Gordon passed away suddenly of heart complications on July 20th, 2023. Chris was born on May 20th, 1966 to Robert and Eloise Gordon of Shelton, Washington, the ninth of ten children. Chris worked at the top of his field as a drywall installer, widely known for his dedicated work ethic and quality craftsmanship. Chris was blessed with two families over his lifetime. He married Shelley-Thompson in who he had two children with, Chase and Shaylie. Years later. he met and married Jessica Krich in Wisconsin who he welcomed four more children with, Nathan, Dakota, Alaina, and Alexandria. Chris was also a step—father to J essica’s first child, Steven Frenzer. Chris returned to Shelton a few years ago. Chris enjoyed playing softball with the Pyros team, shooting hoops or playing a game of football in the street. His all—time favorite leisure activity was horseshoes and he was quite good at it. He loved working with his hands and building things for family and friends. He had the funniest sense of humor and gave us all enough laughs to last a lifetime. He lived for his children and loved them deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eloise Gordon, and his sister JUdy Davis. He is survived by his children, Chase Robert Gordon (wife Katie), Shaylie Jennifer Gordon, Nathan Chase. Gordon, Dakota Joseph Gordon, Alaina Shay Gordon, Alexandria Maria Gordon and Steven Rudolf Frenzer. He is also survived by his siblings, Faith Lavin (Tom), Miles Gordon (Raenelle), Joseph Gordon (Tracie), Ross Gordon, Michael Gordon (Emerald), Mary Landsaw (Clyde), Ted Gordon (Shelly) and Tim Gordon. “Rest in peace, Chris, you will be missed so very much!” A celebration of life for Chris will be held Saturday, July 29th 2023.
