The Mason County Board of Commission-
ers approved a $7 million bond sale Tuesday
to help pay for three costs related to the Bel-
fair sewer project.
About $500,000 of the money will go to-
ward the purchase of land for the Belfair
Wastewater Reclamation Plant outside of
the Belfair Urban Growth Area. Another $2
million would be used to cover $2 million in
grant money that will not be distributed to
the county until after the plant is officially

commissioned.
• The rest of the money, about $4.5 million,
will be used to help finance connection costs
for future customers of the Belfair Sewer.
"About 40 people have already showed in-
terest," utilities director Emmett Dobey said.
The bond sale is scheduled for August 9,
but can be postponed depending on market
conditions.
The commissioners will hold a second
public hearing on the Belfair sewers at 9:30
a.m. next Tuesday in the commissioners'
chambers.
