John Tupper and Steve Crape, and three friends from Centralia, Bill Hilleary, Bill Murray, and Bill Vender Hoff, attended the Gold Cup race ,at Seattle last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Hardie, SheN ton, visited the Lawrence Hansens to see tl~eir horses. Mrs. Clifford Ford accompanied Mrs. Gertrude Scott, Shelton, on a shopping trip to Oly~mpia last Friday, and met Mrs, Mae TemT of Portland at the depot. Mrs. Terry plans to spend a few days with Mrs. Scott. MR. AND MRS. DAVID Smith (Betty Kelley) and D~vid Kelley, home for the weekend, attended the Mary M. Knight Alumni dance at Matlock Grange hall last Sat- urday. Mrs. A.rchie Kelley and her fam- ily earlier Satu~xiay evening joined the friends and relatives of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Avery at a wed- ding reception in their honor at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. m~4 Mrs. Noelen Avery, of Matlock. l~nald Cole and Alan Tupper plan to enter the ski contest on Capitol Lake at Olympia next Sun-" day. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Reeve and family visited at Astoria, Ore., last weekend. Tom Trolzer Is New 4.H Leader For Thunderbirds By Mrs. Ray Kratcha SOUTHSIDE .... Thunderbirds 4-H Club's new leader is Tom Trotzer. Attending 4-H camp at Pantmndle were Lea Snyder, Jer- ry Armstrong, Robbi J'ackson, Clifford Rickards and Clark Cham- bers. Last Monday they had a potluck picnic at Walker Park for the Twilight League "B" Squad's coach~ Charles Bracy. All boys attended except one. The parents of the boys also attended. They gave Bracy a baseball autographed with the team's name on it. After !dinner all retired to the baseball field and played a game. THUNDERBIR1)S 4-H club members met at the home of Tom Trotzer Thursday ewmtng. 1Vfem- bars talked about 4-H entries for the fair and members looked over the Mason County Fair sheets on the points, entries and contests. Attending the meeting were Trot- zer, Les Snyder, Cliff Rickards and Jerry Armstrong. Mrs. Trot- zer was a guest at the meeting. Silver Stars will ride at the Elms Fair Grounds Saturday. Silver Stars worked on the 4-H barn at the Mason County Fair grounds last week and will need lots of help between now and the fair. Mrs. Vern Schuffenhauer, Nan- cy and Christine attended the kitchen shower held for Donna Clark last Friday evening. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Kriefels, Sheila and Cheryl last Thursday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Kriefels and family of Bremerton. SOUTItSIDI~I Eagles 4-It Club members and assistant leader, Mrs. Lynn Wilson, attended 4-H camp at Panhandle. Members at- tending were Cliff Taylor, Carl Johnson, Carl Wilson, John Wil- son. Steve Boysen attended camp the last two days. The next Southside Eagles meeting will be held tonight at 6 p.m. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stuck spending a couple of weeks visiting are Mr. and Mrs, Charlel McCauley and Kathy of Dayton in Eastern Washington. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Putvin spending a week are Rev. and Mrs. LeRoy Kellerman and daughter of Oak Harbor. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stuck and Mr. and Mrs. Charles McCauley and Kathy spent last weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Stuck of Hoquiam. VISITORS at the Fred Stuck home Sunday evening were Mr. :and Mrs. Merle Holloway, Mr. and =Mrs. Buster Holloway, 1~r. and Mrs. Vernon Stuck, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Stuck and Ernest Stuck. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kratclm, Linda and Susan and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Perrine and daughter of Aberdeen visited at the Ray Kratcha home last Sunday eve- ning. Opal Lancaster of Olympia spent Friday and Saturday with the Fred Stucks. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kratcha, Linda and Susa~l Sun- day evening were Mr. and Mrs, Wiliam Garrard, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Ga~Tard and Cleo, and Mrs. Kaihrine Miller. All visitors were from Victor, Mont.
