Purchase Referred Care
Specialist (PRC). The in—
cumbent works with the
Billing/Provider team to
ensure the PRC referrals
are managed in a timely
manner Maintain PRC pa-
per files and develop an
electronic filing system that
meets HIPAA and IHS fed- '
eral standards. Handle all
telephone, fax, in-person
and electronic claim related
issues including PRC eligi-
bility determinations from
outside facilities The fund-
ing expenditures are direct
payments for health care
services provided away
from the Skokomish Health
Center when no other re-
sources are aVaiIable to
cover the cost for services.
PRC staff coordinates with
internal and external part-
ners to ensure program
funding is only expended
as the “payor of last resort".
PRC Program Participants
must update their applica—
tion data annually and the
PRC Specialist makesthe
eligibility determinations
upon receipt of the annual
application. Manage the
PRC budget and provide
comprehensive monthly
financial reports to clinic
administration as well as
exporting the RPMS data
monthly to HIS Review
all claims and obtain the
necessary V documentation
to process the payment
request or issue a denial
Calculate Medicare-like
rate, MFC (Most Favored
Customer) or PRC (Pur-
chased Referred Care
Rates) when necessary or
appropriate claims. Closes
