Church shines at car show °"ncl0000

The third annual Show 'n' Shine
was presented on Sunday by the
folks at the Shelton Seventh-day
Adventist Church and held at
Shelton Valley Christian School
on West Shelton Valley Road.
The sponsors pronounced the
Christian car and bike show to be
a great success.
Entries came from as near as
Hoodsport and as far as Pensac-
ola, Florida, with Port Orchard,

who worked at the Insulating
Board Plant of the Simpson Tim-
ber Company will begin at 2 p.m.
on Saturday, September 8, at 11
East Wysteria Court in Island
Lake Manor.
It will be a potluck gathering.

Bremerton, Aberdeen, Ten|no,
Central|a, Auburn, Puyallup,
Leavenworth and Loma Linda,
California, also represented. Gene
Bresee chaired the organizing
committee and the Christian ra-
dio station at 105.3 on the FM dial
emceed the event, with Larry Lo-
mack raving about the vegetarian
burgers.
"It was an event for the whole
family with face painting and kids'
activities," said Pastor Jennifer
Scott.
She said the success of previ-
ous Show 'n' Shine events put the
Shelton event on the calendars of
the Good Guys and other hot rod
clubs, and it did not escape the no-
tice of Cruisin" magazine.
This year's top winners were:
best of show to Matt Pierce and
his 1961 Chevy Impala; best mo-
torcycle to Herb Baze and his 2002
Harley; and people's choice to Bre-
see and his 1932 Ford roadster.
"The Shelton Seventh-day Ad-
ventist Church was excited to
have so many supporting sponsors
throughout the community," Scott
said.
