STAFF REPORT A burnt, downed wire on a rural stretch of Bulb Road knocked out the power for about 1.500 Shelton residents on Saturday night. The outage occurred at 8:55 p.m.. and lasted about 2-1/2 hours. The downed wire cut power coming from the PUD 3 Dayton substation, which is being used by Shelton customers while the downtown substation is being re- built. Crews were lucky to find the faulty wire so quickly in such a remote location. PUD 3 Opera- tions Manager Bob Smith said. Residents who discover downed wires are encouraged to stay away from them. and to immedi- ately notify the district. ]OURNALOFRECORD Calls reported to Shelton Police, Mason County Sher- iffs Office and tribal agen- czes included: Burglaries At 4:34 p.m. on Aug. 14, a burglary was reported in the 1400 block of East Ma- son Lake Drive South.
