DL'S CORNER
Since this is August, and some
of the best buys of the year are to
had during this month, we
thought you would like to know
that there are 31 days in the 1970
version ....
Sunday, falls on five of those
dates, leaving 26 shopping
days.., and since 22 of them
have fallen by the wayside, that
leaves only four days to capture
those best buys ....
Listed in capsule form, here is
a smattering of the stores that
have specials on the go during the
last part of the month ....
One of them is BOB'S SHOE
TREE. Owner Bob Wotton has
some top quality summer sandals
and casuals on the line for huge
markdowns. Better run for this
sale, today ....
An August clearance awaits
you at EVERGREEN DRUG
CENTER wh, ere owner Ken
Chapman has slashed prices all
over the store on bargains you'll
use next summer too. Get ready
now for that long Indian Summer
we'll have this year...
A top buy at a low price is
yours at B & R SALES. Jerry and
Sharon Watilo, managers, have as
the special of the week, a big GE
refrigerator-freezer. Better stop in
today and take a look ....
Looking for a real buy in
house paint? Then drive up to
EACRETT LUMBER CO. There,
you'll find a real bargain on
Pittsburgh paints, either latex or
oil base outside house
paint ... Remember that now's
the time to buy, and to paint ....
In the Market for a
four-drawer chest? Then OLSEN
FURNITURE is the place to go.
Owner Rod Olsen has cut the
price of one over $20, so dash in
and grab it. Only 10 are available.
Nell Evander, owner of
NEIL'S PHARMACY, knows the
kids need school supplies and you
need a low price, to save your
budget. Well, here you can do
both by grabbing the weekend
specials, at extra low, low
prices...
The best place to buy
aluminum culvert is
HOODSPORT LUMBER CO.
according to Ed Taylor, owner.
Ti es
year and is located at Union...,.
Bill Winne, manager of NYE
COMPANY, has lots of building
materials out on the Cole Road
just waiting for your inspection.
Seems that some of them are
specially priced ....
A belated congratulations to
Rod and Carolyn Olsen on the
arrival of Karin Suzanne. She
arrived Aug. 13 at the healthy
weight of 71bs. 4 ozs. in
Seattle ....
Are you hungry and looking
for a top quality drive-in with lots
of service and good things to eat?
Then look to MINOR'S A & W
DRIVE-IN on Mt. View. Minor
Williams, owner, says to just come
as you are, no need to get on your
fancy duds here, just drive-in and
enjoy the fabulous banquet ....
A fabulous 3-Day Riot Sale
for shopping back-to-school
bargains is going full tilt this
weekend at MILLER'S. Manager
Ron Elledge and Shoe
Department Manager Kirk Criner
have gotten together to make this
one heck of a store wide
jamboree. So don't miss it! ....
That's -30- for this week,
and here's a brain teaser for you
"The greedy man is he who sits
and bites bits out of plates, or else
takes up an almanac and gobbles
all the dates."
