This expansion of the emergency medical service
of Mason General Hospital will provide a new
dimension of care to accident and critically ill
patients in our area. Of particular benefit will be
the time factor in transporting highway, woods,
and mountain accident victims to prompt
medical care.
Mason General Hospital's heli-pad is
geographically located to serve the vast area
west through the Olympics to the ocean, and
north to Port Angeles that i¢ without hospital
service. These are high accident frequency areas
where the service of an air ambulance is often
crucial to the victim's welfare.
Planning for the emergency heli-pad at Mason
General Hospital utilized a ground level location
situated 220" from the emergency services
entrance. The installation is recognized as one of
the finest in the state and is fully approved by
the Federal Aviation Administration.
