She was found wandering
one of our rural reads all-
alone and we were glad to
take her in. She is a Dachs-
hund, approximately eight
years old and is as sweet as
can be. She loves dogs and
people and would be a great
family pet or companion for
an older person or couple.

Habitat for Humanity, honors
volunteers ofth month
Tom Page and Roy Kleives have been
named the Habitat for Humanity August
Volunteers of the month.
The two volunteers pick up items, which
are donated by area citizens, ranging in size
from small to large. Addi-
tionally, the team provides
a service that keeps mer-
chandiseflowing into to
the store. This merchan-
dise, as it is sold, makes
it possible for Habitat for
Hmnanity to build afford-
able quality housing in
Mason County.
Tom Page worked as an elec-
Page trical mechanic on nuclear
submarines for several
years. After he retired, he
worked on the Habitat construction crew
whenever he was needed. In addition to
driving the Habitat truck,
he tests incoming appli-
ances and helps where
he is needed. In his spare
time, he works on the "A
Brush with Kindness
program and on Habitat
house construction.
Kleives worked for the
University of Washington
Roy Police Department for 30
Kieives years:' After leaving the
police, he worked for State
Farm Insurance Co. for
several years. He and his wife moved to
Mason Lake in 1972. Aider retirement he
began volunteering with Habitat for Hu-
manity on home construction, on the Family
Selection committee and has served on the
Board for Habitat for Humanity for Mason
County.
