The timing could not be more appropriate or foreboding. September 11, 2001 is
the tenth anniversary of four attacks on the "Land of the Free". Certainly a daB in
our time, that "... will live in infamy."
Saturday, September 10, 2011 the Mason County Shelter and St. David's Parish
Hall Cold Weather Shdter present an evening of great food, and auction & music!
Our hope is to raise money for the homeless shdters, both St. David's Cold
Weather Shelter and the Mason County Shdter here in Shdton. The theme
for our event signals the enduring connection between freedom and economic
hardship, between living in the land of the free and yet facing homdessness.
America has never, and will never turn her back on her call to extend a compassionate hand to those in her towns and
cities where the homeless struggle to find safe harbor. We don't feel it now so much with the Summer and Fall seasons
upon us, but as temperatures drop there grows the very real danger of people being medically compromised by the cold. •
The Mason County Shelter and St. David's Cold Weather Shelter is how we respond to this cold reality.
Please consider attend'rig this event with the same sense of urgemy that might
you should you twer flnd yourself in a similar place.
