For the past three years,
the Rest-A-While RV Park
near Hoodsport has hosted
an art and music fair, and
this coming Labor Day week-
end will continue the- tradi-
tion, albeit with a number of
adjustments to ensure safety
in the midst of the COVID-19
pandemic. '
Elizabeth Bennett, op-
erational manager of the RV
park, invites everyone to at-
tend the third annual art and
music fair from 9 a.m. to 5
pm. Saturday and 10 a.m. to
3 pm. Sunday at her estab-
lishment at 27,001 US. High
way 101.
“We’re following all the
same guidelines as gather-
ings such as the farmers’
markets,” Bennett said.
“We’re enforcing a 6-foot rule
and other social distancing
measures, as well as monitor:
ing our crowd sizes to make
sure they don’t become a
problem.”

The event began when
Bennett decided to put her
skills as an events coordina-

variety of arts she’s loved all
her life.
“I grew up among people
of the land who are artists,
and gave many bushels of
food from our gardens to our
neighbors, and wanted to
reach out and make a differ—

wanted to support tribes in

Farewell to the King:Chadwick Boseman’s life and legacy
hadwick Boseman

being diagnosed with
stage 3 colon cancer in 2016
and continuing to battle with
it in private as it progressed
to stage 4.

the more remarkable that Boseman
apparently responded to his cancer
diagnosis by saying, “Right! Back to
work, then.”
Because “work” in Boseman’s case,
was making movies, and not just any
movies, but a string of nearly back-to-
back blockbusters. '
He was the sole redeeming virtue
of once—talented director Alex Proyas’
galactic-level misfire “Gods of Egypt”
in 2016.

Boseman stepped into Denzel Wash-
ington’s shoes as a thoughtful-yet-
driven man of action like the template
had been made for him.
He achieved three-peat success in
biopics of historically significant Afri-
can-Americans in 2017’s “Marshall,”
adding to his earnest depiction of
Jackie Robinson’s quietly persevering
heroism and his nuanced portrait of
the morally mercurial James Brown,
in what “Odyssey” translator Emily
Wilson would refer to as “a compli-
cated man.” He captured the prin-
cipled intellect and diligence of future
US. Supreme Court Justice Thurgood
Marshall, back when he was a young
NAACP lawyer.
Boseman was so prolific, he not

last one of those films, “Ma Rainey’s
Black Bottom,” has yet to be released,
and another film in pre-production,
“Yasuke,” will have to recast its lead
actor now that he’s gone. ~
And the big one: Boseman played
