Obituaries
Teddie Ray Bracy
T. Ray Bracy passed away on Wednesday Au-
, gust 26, 2020, at Providence St. Peter’s hospital in
Olympia, WA. He was born to Charles W. Bracy
and Ollie H. Bracy in Batesville, Arkansas on No-
vember 6, 1926. Ray served in the US Navy as a
Radar Operator Third Class in WWII. After leav- ‘
ing the Navy he moved to Shelton, WA in 1947. He
was a voluntary Fire Fighter for a short time. He , r
then met and married Catherine L. Wellman on
July 23, 1953. Ray then secured a position with
Simpson Timber Company. After a few years he
was able to secure a position with P.U.D #3 in
Shelton, where he remained until he retired. Ray
and Catherine made their home and raised three ‘
children in Shelton, WA.
Ray is preceded in death by: Charles W. Bracy,
' Ollie H. Bracy, Hapel Bracy and Catherine L. Bracy. Ray is survived
by his
children. Sons; Dale (Penny) Bracy of Olympia, WA, Randy (Cindy) Bracy of
Olympia, WA, and Daughter Terrie (Dave) Ward of Tucson, AZ. Their five
Grandchildren: J. William (Melissa) Harger III of Ridgefield, WA, Carrie
r (Tom) Oreste of Portland, OR, Dustin (Felicia) Harger of LaCenter, WA,
An-
' drea (Noah) Saffer of Olympia, WA, and Brittany Mullins of Olympia,
WA,
3 and six Great Grandchildren.
Graveside service will be held at Shelton Memorial Park on September 3,
2020 at 1:00. Face masks are not required but are respected for each indi-
vidual.

Dorothy Larimer
Dorothy Larimer passed away peacefully in her
Shelton home on August 26, 2020, with family by
her side.
Dorothy grew up in Tulare, CA. She married
Gerald Larimer in 1949, and moved to Shelton,
WA in 1966.
She was a homemaker and passionate about
gardening, reading, camping, and loving her fam-
ily.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gerald
(Jerry) Larimer. She is survived by her three sons,
Gary, Dan (Gaye) and Steve Larimer, her daugh- V
ter Joyce Larimer, and numerous grandchildren;
Jeff, Karmen, Leah, Blake, and Troy, and great
grandchildren, Titus, Carter and Tanner.
Anyone who knew Dorothy, knew she was al-
ways happy, laughing and picking on those she loved. She Will be sorely
' missed.
The family Will be having a small and private celebration of life. In lieu
of
flowers you can donate to your favorite charity.

Jimmy (Jim) Harold Hard
Born June 16, 1933 to William and Adeline
(Bovey) Hard of Oklahoma City passed away August I

‘ X To say the least, Grandpa Jim’s life cannot be eas-
ily summed up in an obituary. Jim’s paternal family,
who was transient due to financial necessity, resided .
largely in Texas and Oklahoma, in addition to Musco-
gee and Chickasaw territories. Jim Hard’s young life
included moving frequently, surviving poverty, and
' idolizing his famous cousin, rodeo star Ted Yocum.
‘- In connection with the times, the family was greatly
affected by the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma. As similarly ;
‘ depicted in Steinbeck’s Grapes of Wrath, the Hard I
family moved West in search of work. Upon arriving ,
in California, Grandpa recalled jumping out of the

Yvonne J ohnstone in 1976. They met while square dancing. (It is said that

lived together in Napa, California for nearly two decades. Grandpa retired

Mare Island Naval Base, where he was a flame cutter. As he was retiring,
Jim
became one of the first people in the nation to receive a Cochlear hearing
implant.
In 1993, Jim and Yvonne traded the California sun for some Shelton,
Washington f
rain. In his retirement, Grandpa loved cribbage, card games; western
novels, :
family visits and anything dessert related. During the start of his golden
years,
~ he refurbished a boat with his son and traveled frequently—once taking

Grandpa Jim leaves behind his beloved wife, Yvonne, two siblings (Robert

Shelton, died Aug. 24, 2020, at Providence St. Peter

Elliott Funkhouser, 78, a resident of Shelton,
died Aug 26, 2020, at home. Arrangements are by

Richard Hugh Markley, 82, a resident of Shel-
ton, died Aug. 26, 2020, at Providence St. Peter Hos-

Melvin J. Mickelsqn, 81, a resident ’of Shelton,

dent of Shelton, died Aug. 30, 2020, at Shelton
