villing to spend up to a mil-

vest another 3-4 million in rare au-
tomobiles for an automotive/avia-
tion museum, all for the benefit of
this community. Without financial
input from taxpayers! This has the
potential to create millions in local
revenue and millions more in tax
revenues!
Later on in an act of despera-
tion she infers that he is not a
reputable businessman and that
he has no good business sense! Fi-
nally when all else failed she chose
to take a jab at my "ethics and in-
tegrity." Let's review the facts. She
complained to the sheriffs office,
Port of Shelton and the county and
it did no good because we broke no
laws and operated under a lawful
contract.
Once again in an act of despera-
tion she with the help of Norm
Eveleth filed complaints with the
Federal Aviation Administration.
Even outgoing Port Commissioner
Marlene Taylor sent a letter to the
FAA asking the agency to reacti-
vate the abandoned/decertified
runway so that no one could use
it! In response Port Commissioner
Jack Miles and myself met with
the FAA in Seattle. We listened to
their concerns and they listened
to ours. All is good, and we agreed
to meet on the proposal after the
election. She lost out again!
I arranged to have these events
at the non-aviation part of the port
with the help of hundreds of dedi-
cated volunteers and businesses. I
worked with all of the state, coun-
ty and federal entities as required
with great success. The premise
was to provide a revenue genera-
tor for local entities to help this
community. This was done at my
own personal expense - an upfront
investment of more than $50,000.
She fails to inform the readers
that more Island Lake residents
showed up to support this pro-
posal than to oppose it! And that
when we announced our proposal
to reduce the noise, it was pretty
much agreed that a good compro-
mise had been reached and was
clearly accepted by some of those
who originally objected, including
some residents of Hidden Haven,
which is adjacent to the port and
closest to the track!
Ms. Evans has been right about
one thing. At the beginning of the
meeting she announced that people
have told her "that she is a trouble-
maker with too much time on her
hands/I question her knowledge,
her ethics and her integrity.
