The opening is held in the sanctuary at 9 a.m. where both children and adults alike gather for prayer, song, scripture, visual-aid stories before going to individually graded classes. There are classes from pro-school through adult. Adults gather over coffee fo.r Bible study and discussion of the issues and topics relevant to faith and life. All are invited. Nursery will be provided for parents with infants. Catechetical instruction for youth of seventh grade and older will begin September 17 at 6 p.m. The program .consists of eighteen "mini-courses" taught in such a way that a course missed may be picked up at a later date. Two or more of these mini-courses will be taught each month in the future. The first mini-course is on the theme baptism and will be the first of nine courses, taught this year. Three of them will be in a retreat setting. An adult exploration class will begin September 21 consisting of eight weekly sessions under the theme "Getting in on the Mystery of God's Will." The basic concept of the course centers on God's first creation of the world and universe and His new creation in Jesus Christ. All adults who are curious about exploring the basics of biblical Christian faith are invited. There are no obligations on the part of students. Card party set for Saturday A card party is slated for 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Harstine Island Community Hall. A potluck and card games are slated for Sunday in the home of Glenn Lockwood. Methodists set luncheon for Tuesday Shelton United Methodist Women will meet Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Methodist church. A business meeting will precede a noon luncheon to be served by Rachel Circle. Those who attended the Cooperative School of Christian Mission at Pacific Lutheran University in July will present the afternoon program entitled, "What Really Happened at the School of Mission." All women are invited to attend this meeting.
