The Shelton High School football team took on Bremerton High School in its
home opener Friday at Jack Stark Field at Highclimber Stadium. The
Highclimbers led in the fourth quarter, but the Knights escaped with a win

Bremerton scores with 38 seconds remaining to thwart Climbers
The Climbers trailed 14-0 and 21-7 before
mounting a comeback.
A 4-yard touchdown pass late in the second
quarter made it 21-14 at the break.
A safety and a fourth—quarter touchdown gave
Shelton the lead before Bremerton scored with
38 seconds left to claim the win.

The Shelton High School football team opened
the home portion of its 2023 schedule Friday
night against the Bremerton Knights.
The Highclimbers led 23-21 late in the fourth
quarter, but the Knights scored in the final min—
ute to escape with the win.
with 128 yards passing and 120 yards on the
ground.
Defensively, the Climbers surrendered 271
yards, limiting the Knights to just 80 yards in
the air but 171 yards rushing.
The Climbers begin Evergreen Conference
play 7 p.m. Friday against W.F. West at Jack
Stark Field.
