Daniel Florek, Sr., born April 17, 1952, passed away peacefully at
the home of his son and best friend, Dan Florek, Jr. He was born. to
Florian and Evelyn in Roseburg Oregon. . A]
He had a love for hunting and the only thing that he enjoyed more
than that was hunting with his family. He always had his son by- his
side, along with numerous brothers and nephews, but nothing made
him more excited than to hunt with his granddaughter Karen
great- granddaughter Alizabeth. He liked fishing, picking mushrooms
and camping in a tent or under the stars. He loved being outdoors. ‘
He is predeceased by his dad and stepmom (Eileen Florek), Mom,
his ex~wife, Barb Florek his brothers, Ron, Paul, Tom, Mike, Larry,
Roy (Florek), and his sister Vonda Cathers.
He is survived by his sister, Judy Fetterer, son, Dan Flbrek, Jr. (Stacy),
'
daughters, Tina Robinson (Jeanne), Julie” Hansen (Hauke), Amy
Chaney (Tim) numerous grandchildren and great—grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be heldon Stinday, October 1, 2023, at 1:00 w
pm. at the Arcadia Fire Hall District 4. 2
Herbert “Skip” Smythe Rand, III
Herbert “Skip” Smythe Rand, III, age 76, passed away July 28, 2023 at
Shelton Health
and Rehab. He Was born July 29, 1946 in Bangor, Maine, to Herbert S. Rand,
Jr. and
Wilda Rose (Sucy) Rand. ‘ 2
Skip joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and became an elite Cobra
helicopter pilot. He was a highly decorated veteran and received numerous
commendations, including a Purple Heart. He continued to be an instructor
for the
next generation of pilots. He retired with more than 20 years of military
service. He
later served as a police officer, an air traffic controller and, lastly,
as a rural water system
designer. Skip was quite the storyteller and entertainer. He loved the
spotlight! Above
all else, he was a fisherman. Fishing was his passion. Skip was a
bonafide hero with
a pure and true heart to those who had the honor to be his friend. He will
be sorely
