“And you will hear of wars and threats of wars, but don’t
panic. Yes, these things must take place, but the end won’t
follow immediately.”
Today is Monday. As 1 wondered what to write this week, a co
worker said, “You‘re not going to write about 9/1 1?" DUI-II!!!
How many ot’you know what happened on September 11, 2001
— 22 years ago? 1 bet many of you were not even born yet!
\A’ikipedia says: 'lhe September I attacks, commonly known
as 9/1 I, were four coordinated lslamist suicide terrorist attacks
carried out by aleQaeda against the United States on ’l‘uesday,
September ll, 2001.
'lhe World 'l‘rade Center, known as the Twin Towers, and
the Pentagon were attacked and blown up. 'l‘wo planes crashed
into the World Trade Center, one into the Pentagon, and the
fourth plane crashed in rural Pennsylvania after the crew and
passengers attacked the terrorists on board, preventing it from
hitting another target — which was thought to be the White
House, '
Our whole country was in a panic! How scary!
Many of you “older kids,” like me, remember exactly where you
were that morning.
I was taking my daughter to school, and her Kindergarten
teacher had it on the television in her classroom when I walked
in.
No one had thought a superpower like the United States would
ever suffer that kind of an attack, and it shook our nation to the
core.
Many men and Women sacrificed their lives trying to protect
us. Many people, trapped inside the burning buildings, were
either burned alive orjumped to their death. Many children
—Matthew 24:6 NLT
grew up without a father or mother because theirs were either
saving lives and losing their own, or just losing their lives,
because no one could save them,
It was a horrible, awful time for us, bth it was not the end of the
world. 'l‘wentyvtwo years later we remember, and the end did not
follow immediately. 'lhe planet is still very much alive!
We do not need to panic, and we do not need to fear.
The one who created earth, in (ienesis, is (iod the Father. He
is in complete control, and gave us His Bible as an instruction
guide. He knows the Beginning from the End. He created the
Earth, and He is the only one who can destroy it and make it
new again!
“Now saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven
and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more
sea. Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming
down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned
for her husband. And heard a loud voice from heaven saying,
“Behold, the tabernacle ofGod is with men, and He will dwell
with them, and they shall be His people. God Himselfwill be
with them and be their God. And God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor
crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have
passed away.” Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold,
make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these
words are true and faithful.” —Revelation 21:1 —5
