, Despite major improvement between the
first time the Mary M. Knight volleyball
team faced the Three Rivers Christian team
last week and the second time, the Lady
Owls were not about to win a game.
On Tuesday, Sept. 6, the Lady Owls lost
to the Lady Eagles 25-11, 25-13 and 25-7.
Then, on Saturday, Sept. 10, the Lady Owls
lost 25-17, 25-9 and 25-23.
"The girls played much
improved over last Tues-
day's games," Kitty Breh-
meyer, head coach, said.
"It was the same competi-
tion both days, but we just
improved a lot. As a whole,
I thought there were some
real good volleys back and
forth and we're working
hard at being more ag-
gressive at the net."
Finally, Brehmeyer said she wanted to
recognize freshman Kayla Kiliz for her "ex-
cellent job as libero."
Johnson said she thought the team
played a lot better on Saturday than they
did on Tuesday.
"We played with intensity and tried to
communicate better with each other," she
said. "I believe we're improving each game
and if we continue that, then by the end of
,..we re
improving
each game...
if we continue
that, then by
the end of the
the season, we'll be un-
stoppable."
Johnson said she thinks
the team needs to improve
on keeping their intensity
up throughout the game
instead of just at the end.
"I also think we need
to start off with better
serves," she added.
As of press time, the
Lady Owls (0-0, 0-2) had
not yet played at home
