Cooperative Extension of Mason
and Grays Harbor counties offers
training sessions on leadership,
with a session on communication
scheduled for October 13.
The Leadership Advancement
program, says Cooperative Exten-
sion spokesperson Bonnie Hall, is
a nationwide educational pro-
gram. Its purpose is developing
and enhancing leadership skills
to enable people to influence is-
sues affecting their workplaces,
communities and families.
WSU Extension Coordinator
Nancy Sanders will conduct the
first training session. Partici-
pants in the session will learn
their own communication styles
and discover how to communicate
with individuals of different
styles. They will also learn active
listening skills.
Additional training sessions
wll be held each month. Topics
will include identifying issues,
problem-solving, conflict manage-
ment, iacilitation, team building,
individual differences, effective
meetings and public relations.
Registration for each session is
$50, with a $60 registration fee
charged for last-minute attendees North Mason phones),
at the door. The series will be
conducted at the 4-H camp at
Panhandle Lake, off Highland
Road west of Shelton.
