The weekend of the 29th of
August, Dick Fuller and Dean Per-
ry took their families on an excur-
sion to the town of Powell River,
Canada. Here they dove on three
different wrecks located in that
general area, taking picLures and
making notes to lmve for the
other members in Shelton. As a
result of the dives, the chlb is
planning a return trip later this
year, when the waters cleat' of the
plankton and other form of marine
life which hold visibility to a Bin-
ill]llnl.
The two high points of the dive
were meeting the wonderful peo-
ple in the area, and a dive on the
sunken ship "Gulf Stream". There
were quite a few picture~ taken,
but due to the poor water condi-
tions, the results fell short of the
hopes of the photoga'aphers.
Tim Seals played host to Mr.
aud Mrs. A] Newell, president of
the Marker Bouys diving club of
of the favorite diving spots of
the local club. A high point of:
the events was a day of wrestling
octopus off of Restwhile on Hood
Canal. Ttmy were able to oust 4
of the beasts," and after grapple-
ing each one in turn, they were
'released, and allowed to return
to their holes, unhappy, but tm-
harmed.
Members of the club journeyed
to Grays Harbor last Saturday to
dive and make arrangements for
lodgings for the following week-
end, which will find the whole
group spending tlm two days, div-
ing and beachcombing. Dean Per-
ry took a 39-lb. ling" cod while
there, so the trip was a real suc-
cess.
Sunday, the club was asked to
furnish divers to search for the
body of a boy who drowned at
Camp Biahop on Lost Lake. They
were successful in locating the vic-
tim.
