Foster Home Neecl In
Area Is Growing
There is a growing need in the
Shelton area for foster homes
according to the local Family
Services Section of the
Washing(on State Department of
Public Assistance, which is under
constant pressure to find homes
for children without parents. The
more pronounced need is parents
for teenagers. Boys and girls
deprived of their own parents are
in desperate need of homes.
A foster home orientation
series will be held Sept. 23 at
7:30 p.m. in the Public Assistance
Office, 6th and Railroad, Shelton.
The series will be on a weekly
basis, lasting approximately one
month. An example of subjects to
be covered will be the child's
reaction to parental separation,
parental rejection, repeated
runaway, physical abuse, sickness
or death or constant teen acting
out. A guide will be offered for
the series, but ample time will be
allowed for items of particular
interests, questions and
discussions.
Those interested may call
426-3363 for additional
information.
