"The girls did really well," head coach
!~u~ lh,acon said. "i was pretty tough on
them in practice and collectively, the en-
d; re team picked up everything from train-
iug and applied it in the game."
All three Shelton goals were scored in
the first half by Katie Dean, Loryn Ziegler
:~,ld Kenzie Selleg.
"Our keeper Autumn
Golden only had one real
shot on goal," Deacon
said. "Our field players
did real well."

stepped up to the chal-
lenge," Deacon said. "Although the score
w:x~n't huge, they owned the other team
tt,, entire game.'
Before the start of the game, as each girl
was announced and ran down the line to
shake hands with opponents, Deacon said
he spoke to each player.
"I told each girl what I wanted them to
do during the lineup," he said. "It yeas a lit-
tle personalization and individual advice. I
had a few players who really stepped up to
the challenge."
He said the biggest change in this game
compared to the team's first two games was
the ability of the midfielders to understand
what they needed to do.
"I was very impressed," Deacon said.
"We had a long week with an extra day of
practice. Usually, the team together will
pick a tbcus and stick to it, but this time,
at any point, groups of girls picked up on
different things. When they all put it to-
gether, it was good to see every aspect of
training was picked up."
The Lady Highclimbers (1-2) hit the
road to play at 7 p.m. tonight at Timber-
line.
"I think if they come out and play like
they did (against Lincoln) we've got a good
chance of winning," Deacon said. "It de-
pends on the girls. If they show up and
play strong, we'll be in it."
He said if the team continues to improve
on skills and conditioning, it has the drive
and motivation to win this season.
