On Sept. 11, John Pentony -- playing at No. 1 singles for Shelton defeated Bellarmine's Ehott Gardner 7-5, 6-4. "Many times we have a hard time win- ning just one game," head coach John Perry said. Pentony paired with senior Alex Dea- con at No. 1 doubles. Together, they won their first set 6-4, but lost their second and third sets 7-5 and 6-3, respectively. At No. 3 doubles, Andrew Johnson and Brandon Goodale lost their first set 7-5, won their second 7-6, then lost their final set 6-1. South Kitsap was Shelton's final non- league match of the season. Playing in the 3A Narrows League should provide a more level playing field, Gagnon said. "The guys should be excited to finally get into league play as we had to play the top four schools in the 4A Narrows League. which was a bit overwhelming," Perry said. At 3:30 p.m. today, the Highclimbers (0-3) play at home against Timberline.
